Adult Colouring Books

There has been a lot of adult colouring book popping up recently in man places. These are very intricately designed drawings for you to colour in.
They are supposed to me able to help you to relax and deal with stress.

I thought they were a brilliant idea and I picked up Millie Marotta's version called Animal Kingdom This was only £3.99 on Amazon!

The book is so beautiful! Yesterday I finished a lovely drawing of a fox.

I chose to use oranges, browns, reds and a hint of green for this picture.

I just love that the designs are flowers and leaves that make up animals.

The small sections mean that it takes a while to actually complete each picture but I found it so relaxing to do.

I liked focusing on sections of the picture like a small cluster of flowers or leaves which was good for small goals withing the big picture.

Has anyone used these types of colouring books?

BMO Outfit

I really love Adventure Time and have lots of clothes and things related to the show.
I was looking on Ebay and found a really great listing for Printed skirts and tops as soon as a saw it i knew that I need to get the BMO set.

The products came from China so i thought they would take ages to get here but it only took about two weeks!

Here is what the set looked like on! I really love it! the quality is so good for the price too. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so i can wear it out. The crop top is quite short so i would probably only wear it with the skirt. The skirt is great and could be worn with different tops for a more casual look.

First Ever Cosplay!

Hey Guys!

I know it's been ages since I last wrote something! (sorry) I've been super busy with uni work.

I thought I would update you on my first ever cosplay! How exciting!
I decided to do Harley Quinn as she is one of my favourite characters and I thought that it would be quite easy to put together quite cheaply.

The first thing I looked at buying was a blonde wig with pigtails. I purchased this one from Amazon.
Here is what it looks like on me. I really like the style and it looks very full. It comes as one short wig with two pigtails that you clip on.

The second thing that I bought was this corset also from Amazon. (sorry for the terrible photo) This is how it looked. I found that for the price it is very good quality!

I then bought some Harley Quinn leggings from Geek la Chic. These were very good quality and were quite inexpensive. they are quite long and snug which it good as you don't want the leggings to be too baggy.

I bought some white face paint too for the day. I did try it out and found that it was quite good. I also picked up a simple black mask from ebay for about a pound.

This is the final look of my cosplay. I am very proud of it considering it is the first cosplay that I have ever done. I can't wait for July now so i can show it off at Manchester Comic Con!

Granny Square Blanket Update

As you guys know I have been making a crochet blanket using solid granny squares with a black border.
Here is an update of my progress (Excuse the messy bed, it's the only place I could lay them all out
I've built up quite a collection! There are even some colours with more than one square on top of the same colour.

The strip at the top are some that have started to be connected together as I wanted to see how the colours and the black looked together and to practice my joining method. I'm really happy with how well I've been doing with it so far!
I still have a long way to go though.

Hello Kitty Sweatband

I really like knitting and I try to make things that are really cute and aren't just thinks like scarves and hats.

I have an etsy shop called Rachel's Woolies where I sell some of the things that I make.
One of my favourite things that I have knitted is this knitted hello kitty sweatband It's just so kawaii!
I love how simple it is yet it still looks like Hello Kitty. There is a cute little bow at the side too.
You could wear it as a sweatband or a hair band! It's the perfect accessory for any Kawaii girl or even a little girl that you know.

Valentines Gifts for a Gamer ~Part 2~

I wrote a post a few weeks ago about the gifts that i was planning on getting my partner for Valentines day.
The other day the last bits had arrived so i thought I would show it to you guys.

Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest, it's currently hiding in a wardrobe! So there are three gift vouchers for Game, League of legends and steam and there is a xbox one dual controller charger. I bought them online at Game. The funny looking things in bubble wrap are soaps in the shape of controllers from NerdySoap on Etsy. Lastly there is a card with Toad on it from OwlandBrew on Etsy. The basket I got from Amazon, it is just a generic basket and was the perfect size!
I think that it is really perfect for my partner! I thought it would be nice to get something that is personal to him rather than just a generic Valentines present.

Post exam night - outfit

On Friday i had my last exam of the semester of University so I went on a night out with some friends.
The dress that I wore is one that I bought a while ago, I just really love the gold and purple look.
The only problem with this dress is it doesn't have any straps which can be quite awkward.
I paired it with some cute little heels that I got from new look. I didn't want to wear too high shoes because I was planing on doing lots of dancing.

I clipped back my hair at the sides and put on a little bit of make up.

False Nails

I love having really nice long nails but unfortunately I just can't grow mine! No matter how much I try they always seem to break really easily.

I can't afford to have my nails done professionally all the time so I like to buy glue on false nails. I have tried loads of different ones but I think my favourite have to be Primarks! They are only £1 and are so great and come with really lovely designs.

I think these kitty ones have to be my favourite! They're so kawaii, I like that the cat detail is only at the tip of the nail.

This is how they look when they're on. I just love how they look I think I have a huge obsession with cats!

These comic ones are so awesome. They have POW, BOOM, WHAM and BAM written on them. I would definitely recommend them if you are like me and love cute nails.

These last ones are actually from Claire's, I had them as a Christmas present one year. I love the cat eye detail. They are pre-glued stick on ones though. I can't wait to try them out.

Snow 2015

I haven't posted in a while because university has been pretty hectic with all my exams and coursework so not much has really been going on.

It did snow for a little bit today and i got really excited! I just love the snow. I thought I would show you the pictures I took of it.
Don't mind my messy windowsill, I didn't want to get out of bed to take the photos.
Look how lovely it is! I wish it had stuck around. It's so peaceful to look at.

Valentines Gift for a Gamer

It's coming up to Valentines day and i was really struggling for something to buy for my partner. He's really into games and always just asks me to just buy him a game. I'm not really much of a gamer myself so I wouldn't even know how to start.

This year I came up with an idea to make a 'gamer hamper' which will include gamer related things rather than an actual game.

I first found these really awesome Controller soaps from an Etsy shop called Nerdy Soap which i know he will love.

I then bought a xbox one controller charger from Game as i know that he needs one of those for his two controllers.

I picked up some gift vouchers for Steam, League of Legends and Game so that he can choose what games that he wanted himself.

Lastly I'm thinking of picking up some energy drinks and some snacks/sweets for him to have when he's playing his games.

I even bought a game themed card from Owl and Brew which has toad on it.

I'm planning on putting it into a cute little basket for him.
It would be really great if you guys had any ideas of other things that could go in with it too, within the theme of gaming.

Granny Square Blanket

I haven't been crocheting too long but I really liked the idea of making a granny square blanket with solid colours and black edging. It will also help me to use up most of my yarn stash too!
I am aiming to crochet at least one square a day so that it won't take me forever to finish, these are what i have so far. I've just been picking colours at random so that i'll have a nice selection of different colours rather than a specific colour chart.
The only problem with using yarn from my stash is they're all so different so some of the squares are different sizes to others, I thought this would be a problem but I thought that I could always try and block them once i'm all done. If that doesn't work then i guess the different sizes will add character.
I'm really liking this project as they're small squares so I won't get bored and it will look really great once it's finished.

Lumpy Space Princess Skirt - Review

I found a really awesome site that sells Japanese clothes for less than £20!
Here's the site cute japanese fashion

I ordered the Lumpy Space princess dress, on Wednesday, because I love everything Adventure Time related. It cost £11.99 which I thought was a very reasonable price. The sizing was quite strange at it was 6-8 or 8-12. I went with the 8-12, I thought that it might be a little too big, luckily it was a perfect fit.
It was shipped yesterday morning and I received it today!

The skirt is good quality and very stretchy material. I was a little disappointed with the colour of the skirt as it is a lot more pink than the purple that LSP actually is, overall I love it though

I found that the length of the skirt was perfect but is still quite short. I think it looks really nice with a plain black top so you just focus on the skirt.
I would definitely recommend this skirt for any Adventure Time fan. There are also some really amazing Kawaii clothes on their website too, there would be something for everyone!
With my skirt I also received their cute business card that has a discount code on it! I also got two cute pieces of paper with cute little characters on them.
